August is here and so is the sunny weather. There are many activities planned not only here at the Home but also places in the Capital Region. The Residents will be going to Rivers Casino, Schenectady Public Library, First Presbyterian Church, T-Swirl Crepes, Cohoes falls and Latham Farms.

The Entertainment for the month of August will be Carmen Lookshire .

Staying active both mentally and physically are so important. Many healthy activities for their mind and body are planned. Current Affairs, trivia and an assortment of other games are being offered this month to help keep their minds active. Bingo is always a favorite activity! Keeping their bodies in motion is very important so a variety of exercise programs are offered such as Chair exercise, Tai Chi and Chair Yoga and Walking Group we will officially start indoor bowling again this month as well.

I want to thank Madeline from Girl Scout Troop 5016 for the beautiful, raised garden beds she made for our resident’s. I also want to thank her mother Kimberely for her support and guidance throughout this endeavor.

Several spiritual programs are offered, Rosary once a month and Communion is twice a month. Devotional Service with Pastor Noel is the last Monday of every month. First Presbyterian Worship Service is held on the last Sunday of every month.

We are truly grateful and blessed to have the Residents here and to provide a safe, happy and healthy place for them to live. Also, the Staff and Residents are thankful to the families for all of their support.
