A Stroll Back in time
Sunday, September 9, 2018
2018 is the 150th anniversary year of the Heritage Home for Women providing service to the community. The theme for the year is “Reflections” as we celebrate both their illustrious past, as well as their future.
The Home has held several wonderful events already this year in honor of their landmark anniversary. In February, they held a “Silver Tea” at the Home. Then in March, they held an “Antiques Roadshow Appraisal Day” at the Home. In April, at the historic Stockade Inn, was“Reflections – an Anniversary Celebration”.
They are currently busy planning their "A Stroll Back in Time" event for Sunday, September 9th (the actual anniversary date), stepping off at 8:30 a.m.. It will be a fund & friend raising stroll/walk for those who are interested and able, from the present Heritage Home location , past Union College to the original Home site at 237 Green Street in the Stockade section of Schenectady.
As this will be a fund/friend raiser, we encourage “strollers” get supporting monetary pledges from friends and family. For this event, we also encourage all strollers and supporters along the way to dress in Victorian garb as well. Strollers can get their Victorian apparel from The Costumer for a 10% discount!
Stroller pledge forms for event participants interested are also available on this website.
If you are interested in volunteering and assisting us at the stroll please let us know! We welcome and appreciate your support. If you would like to become involved in some other way or learn more about the Home, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or via phone at (518) 374-6921.
