In the News
Cool Autumn days are now here. Our dedicated Walking Club members still go out for fresh air, conversation and exercise as weather permits. And, we are beginning to gear up for the Holidays!
We are looking forward to participating in the Schenectady Historical Society's Festival of Trees. Each year, the Home working in tandem with our Residents, creates a unique, festive masterpiece which is then submitted to be included in the festival. Regular trips are scheduled during the festival to ensure that our Residents get to see not only their handiwork on display but other organizations trees on display.
On Thanksgiving, we offer a scrumptious luncheon meal for our Ladies. Guests are welcome to join the traditional turkey and all the fixins' feast for a mere $10 per person. We ask that guests let us know well in advance of their attendance so that we can plan accordingly for all of those partaking in the meal. Also, if you plan to bring your Resident out of the Home that day to celebrate elsewhere, we ask that you let us know ahead of time.
In addition to our regular Monthly Birthday parties, musical entertainment, bingo games and Friday Happy Hours, we offer Pokeno, Penny Ante, charades, crosswords and memory games, our domino club, Name That Tune, the Price is Right, painting, arts and crafts, and jewelry making. Soon, we hope to offer Wii exercise games as well such as bowling, tennis and golf!
We also offer our Residents pet therapy, Bible Class with Pearl, mass services at the Home provided by Father Bob and the dedicated volunteers of St. Kateri Church, and services provided by Pastor Stan.
We are always adding to or modifying our offered activities to reflect the interests of our Residents. Please review our monthly Activities Calendar for more details.
